Strawberry and apple jam ingredients

  • 500 g Strawberries
  • 3 large Green apples
  • 1⁄4 c Lemon juice
  • 2 c water
  • 1 kg Sugar, warmed

Cooking Strawberry and apple jam

1. Wash, hull & half the strawberries.
2. Peeli, core & quarter the apples.
3. Ten cut quarters into thin slices.
4. Put all the ingredients, except the sugar, into a large pot. Cover & bring to a boil.
5. Simmeri until the fruit is tender.
6. Add warmed sugar & stir till it has dissolved.
7. Increase heat, stirring frequently & cook till setting point is reached.
8. Remove from heat & let stand for 5 minutes.
9. Pour into warm sterile jars & seal.
10. Letts, "jams, pickles & chutneys".
